A big milestone for the farm!

August has brought some exciting progress here at These Roots Peony Farm—we’re so happy to share that we’ve added a brand-new cooler to the farm!

Why is this a big deal? Having a cooler means we can store harvested blooms at the perfect temperature, keeping them fresher for longer. This ensures our bouquets will be at their very best for you, while also giving us more flexibility to harvest at just the right time. 

It might sound simple, but for a small flower farm like ours, this is a big milestone. All that’s left is pouring the concrete pad, assembling the cooler, and getting the electrical connected —then it will be all ready to go! Here's a pic of the cooler the day it arrived! 

We also finished the demo of the old greenhouse structure, added new metal siding to the barn where the greenhouse wall once stood, and gave things a fresh coat of paint. It feels so good to see the farm looking refreshed and ready for the future!

Looking Ahead
While the peony field is quiet now, fall is planting season is almost here. This year we’ll be adding 45 more peonies to the farm, expanding the varieties we’ll be able to share with you in the years ahead.
