Let me tell you about our farm!

Hello! I wanted to share a little bit about our farm! We are a small peony farm located in rural Marion County, near Salem, Oregon, in the gorgeous Willamette Valley. We provide beautiful peonies, grown locally. We are located in Zone 8, and our bloom season typically starts in mid-May and continues for just a few short weeks. We are at the mercy of mother nature, so sometimes our peonies bloom earlier or later than expected.

We expanded our farm in fall 2024 and now have approximately 500 peonies planted. I’ll send another email soon about the prep work it took to get those babies in the ground. It was a huge project to get the property ready and man it took a lot of sweat and hard work. But we did it!

It takes up to 3 years for a peony plant to fully produce, so we have to patiently wait a little longer to open our farm to the public. We are looking at hosting a small event this summer or early fall and are looking forward to having our friends and family come officially check out the farm! I wanted to do it during peony season, but the universe had other plans and I had ankle surgery instead. Not ideal timing for the surgery, since the peonies are just starting to pop up and I am so excited to watch them grow, but it is what it is. For the next few weeks, I will be sending Dave and Laney out to the farm to check the progress (and take pictures) of the growing peonies for me since I can’t walk for 8 dang weeks.

As our farm grows, we are looking at holding small events, offering a self-serve farm stand, where we will have fresh peony bouquets and hope to offer a weekly peony bouquet subscription once our newly planted peonies mature. I have lots of ideas!

Below is a photo of our field, just after we planted the peonies last fall. The peonies are all starting to pop up and boy is it exciting!

I can’t wait to share our peonies with you! I sincerely appreciate you supporting our small family farm! I hope that you’ll consider visiting us at our event later this year.
